Rolling Oaks Club to hold Fall Musicfest

Breaking the tradition of holding its annual Musicfest Fundraiser on Mother’s Day weekend, the Rolling Oaks Club will hold its 10th annual Musicfest on November 2, 2019 in hopes of drawing larger crowds and avoiding rainouts. Dropping to a single day of music, the event will showcase the intimate Rolling Oaks Club stage, natural park surroundings, and top-notch talent to raise funds for the maintenance and operation of the Rolling Oaks Club. The event will be held at the clubhouse, 950 Lonesome Trail, Driftwood Texas, 78619, in the Rolling Oaks subdivision, seven miles east of Wimberley on FM 3237 from 12:00 – 11:00 PM.

Acts include local favorites the Rio Rangers, Jack Motely, Mike Bond & Friends, Hamp Brockton, Mary Melena, Janice & Elliott, ragtime picker Pat Green, O’Malarky, The Coyotes, and Bob Slaughter with the Golden Mamas.

“Every year in May, we compete with music events every weekend and we frequently contend with rain,” said Bobtom Reed, Producer for the event. “We starting looking at the rainfall charts and oddly enough, May has consistently been one of the wettest months of the year. November, on the other hand is one of the driest, plus there are fewer festivals. As always, our festival will entertain the Rolling Oaks way: good music and food served up in a relaxed country setting.”

Each band or musician will take the stage for one hour, beginning at noon on Saturday, November 2. Later sets on Saturday will run 90 minutes.

Food will be served from 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM, and tickets are available at the door or in advance. Adult meals are $10. Kid’s plates are $5. Soft drinks and desserts will be available at varying prices. This year, in addition to BBQ, attendees will also have a new menu option – Chicken & Dumplings.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets and chairs and alcoholic beverages.
