Roadside Clean Up

On Saturday, March 27 there will be a major Wimberley Valley Spring Cleanup event!

The event is being coordinated by Keep Wimberley Beautiful under the leadership of Sarah Attwood.

There will be a drive through for supply pick up from 8 am to 9:30 am at Lions Field on 2325.

The roadside cleanup efforts will be for the roads around Wimberley. If you know of a road that needs serious attention, please let KWB know by emailing keepwimberleybeautiful@ gmail.com. KWB would love for you to volunteer to help with this event. They will send you a detailed e-mail prior to the event if you say, “Yes, I will help.” Please give this some serious thought. The City is also teaming up with KWB for a yard/household drop off for items at dumpsters that day.

Most of us are still in the recovery mode for damage left by the incredible cold spell we all experienced. So far, I have resisted the impulse to do much pruning even though the yard looks horrible. Perhaps, as spring moves forward, some surprise recoveries will be revealed. I am already seeing some green leaves and sprigs emerging. If not, then I guess it is time to re-evaluate the landscaping. By the way, I think the most surprising casualty in my yard was the prickly pears. Some just fell over but others turned to mush. I am still evaluating some of the other casualties as you probably are, too.
