Paint Your Pet with help and a glass of wine
Painting your pet’s portrait, is a great way to keep a remembrance of your loveable furry companion. Who doesn’t get all warm and fuzzy inside when talking about your own fur-baby?
That was the thought behind the “Paint your Pet’s Portrait” Saturday at the Wimberley Veterinary Clinic, and it was all for a good cause, the AVMF charitable veterinary care fund. According to their website, it’s a 501(c)3 nonprofit and the charitable care may be provided to those in need including:
• Disabled veterans requiring a service dog
• Low income senior citizens who can’t afford care and medical care for their pet
• Good Samaritans who rescue domesticated animals
• Victims of domestic violence
• Provide care to neglected, abused and abandoned animals.
“We have 19 painters and Painting with a Twist. We needed a fun way to raise funds for AVMF,” Tracy Sheffield, of the Wimberley Veterinary Clinic, said. “Jaqueline (Markel) and I read the journal of American Veterinarian and would like to see if we could have a successful fundraiser. And here it is.”
The weather, although nice, was a bit too brisk and cool for outdoor activities, but perfect for painting your pet for a good cause. For more information see the Wimberley Veterinary Clinic’s webpage at:
