Old Glory Ranch lifts up King Feed

Four hundred friends and supporters of King Feed came out to Old Glory Ranch on Sunday to show their love for the business in the process of rebuilding after the fire that damaged the store in January. Hosted by Old Glory Ranch, musicians played in the chapel, gumbo and brisket were offered on the patio, a huge wagon filled with charcuterie tempted guests, and a photo booth and vendors kept children and adults entertained. At the check in table were Liz Danna, chief accountant at Old Glory Ranch since 1999 and Kellie Latimer. Wade Sliva, Old Glory Ranch manager and friends produced the gumbo that earned him the nickname of Gumbo King. The McCords, owners of Old Glory Ranch, and Paul Hartmann, owner of The Fence Guy and The Gate Shop, provided the brisket and sausage served to the guests. Musicians Jay Sims, David Byboth, Marvin and Laura Bottera, Jesse and Joshua Stratton, Bob Slaughter, Julie Ragins and Jeff Stocki, and the Hill Country Honeys donated their talents to the fundraiser. On hand to experience the community’s support were King Feed employee Derek Oswalt of the King Feed store in Canyon Lake, and King Feed Wimberley co-owners Laurie Wade and Bryan Toifl.
