New Pastor for Wimberley United Church of Christ

Wimberley United Church of Christ has received a new pastor, Nathan Hill. The past Pastor was Tim Moore, who decided to retire after serving as pastor after 17 years. Moore moved to Llano, Texas.

“They felt like it was time for a younger guy to come in with lots of experience and enthusiasm. During the interview process I was able to fill in all the boxes,” Pastor Hill said. Hill was raised in a military family, which he thought would be his career, but the religious life called and Hill followed, the latest stop Wimberley.

“We moved here and love the congregation, the area is great…It’s an incredible honor to be the pastor after Tim, to keep the work going with a loving congregation to doing the work of the Lord in serving the valley,” said Hill. “We’re excited to be in Wimberley.”

Nathan’s wife, Melanie Hill is a first grade teacher at Blue Hole so she is learning firsthand about the pandemic in schools and how to teach during it. “It’s been a crazy school year.” They met while attending Lubbock Christian and as college sweethearts were married in 1999. They have two children in WISD.

Their last assignment was Angel Fire New Mexico, so they are “moving from one beautiful place to another.” Being closer to his family was also a consideration for the move to the valley. Hill is anxious about being a part of the community and is already a Rotary Club member and is excited to join the Ministerial Alliance.
