Meals on Wheels exceed donation goals

Last program year (October 2017-September 2018), thanks to your donations, Combined Community Action, Senior Nutrition “Meals on Wheels” Program was able to eliminate the waiting list for the program and serve all seniors in need. Because of you, we can keep serving local seniors in need of a nutritious meal.

Combined Community Action provides hot noon meals, 5 days a week in the six counties of Bastrop, Blanco, Caldwell, Fayette, Hays and Lee. Last program year, we served over 118,000 meals to over 900 seniors in those six counties because of your generous donations.

The Meals on Wheels Program is vital to the community. By providing a hot noon meal, seniors can stay in their home, independent and avoid institutionalization. Our caring volunteers also provide a well check of each participant and report any changes back to the local site manager who can then contact family members.

We still need your help, the 60+ population continues to increase and with that increase the need for services grows.
