Market Day is in full summer swing
The Wimberley Lions Club will hold their popular monthly Market Day on Saturday, June 5, to kick off our Summer of 2021 Market Days. Beer, wine and almost all concession stands will be open as the Lions gear back up to normal Market Days after the Covid virus. Of most importance to many Market Day visitors is to know that our delicious Barbecue House will be open with all the delicious items that we have come expect from Market Day barbecue. And the number of concession and beer stands returns to the number that visitors are accustomed to.
More great news comes from the fact that music at Market Day is back in full swing on each of the 3 stages beginning about 11:00 a.m. Little Beverley and the Shades headline the Pavilion Stage with their feel-good music that just makes people sing along. Cheyenne Saenz and her wonderful contemporary music play at the Hill Top stage. And, the smooth country sounds of JR (Rustic Rhythms) plays at the Shady Grove stage.
There is always free admission to Market Day. And the Wimberley Lions Club offer plenty of parking. Lions President Bobby Burris notes, “It fills us with such ‘pride’ to be able, once again, to host these Market Days. Despite last year, with all of its challenges and difficulties, the no-quit spirit of Wimberley and our Lions Club will strive to continue this age-old tradition of hosting Market Days at Lions Field.”
Wimberley Market Day is held on the First Saturday of each month, rain or shine. June’s shopping hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Lions Field is located on FM 2325, about a mile from the Wimberley Square. The $5.00 donation accepted at the Lions Club’s parking lots, as well as all profits from Market Days, helps to fund various grants and scholarships distributed by the Wimberley Lions Club.
