Local birding club to host annual meeting

Jane Tillman, a noted birder from Austin, will be featured speaker at the quarterly meeting of the Wimberley Birding Society, set for 10 a.m., Monday, May 20, in the Wimberley Community Center.

Active in the Travis Audubon Society and the Texas Ornithological Society, Tillman is a Capital Area master naturalist and past president of the Austin chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas. Since 2003, she has been teaching people how to attract birds to their yards with native plants. She also leads birding field trips. In her talk, Tillman will discuss the enrichment birds bring to our lives.

Also at the meeting, upcoming trips to Minnesota, North Dakota and the Pacific Northwest will be discussed. The meeting is free and open to the public.
