Live Nativity Scene at Chapel in the Hills

For the past 32 years, the Chapel of the Hills has been quietly reminding all on Ranch Road 12 the true meaning of the season. Not with a plastic Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus, a sheep or two and a makeshift manger. Not hardly.

On December 18 and 19, Tuesday and Wednesday night the church presented its gift to the entire community, that is a live Nativity scene. With parishioners re-enacting the parts of the shepherds, three kings and the Mary, Joseph and Jesus, it always is a thrill to experience. To make the crèche scene complete, live animals including Toby the mule were present.

Throughout all the holiday confusion, it tells us to slow down and take a breath. The scene is one of those small events that make up a small town, making us all stop and remember what the season is all about.
