Interactive, family friendly theater

Wimberley audiences are much accustomed to, and are big fans of, D. Heath Thompson’s scripts having seen his very successful full mainstage production of The Legend of Robin Hood several years ago. Did you know that Heath also writes the family productions for Central Texas Theatre Academy?

These shows are 40-minutes long and are interactive to keep the younger audience members engaged and having a blast. The children in the audience may be asked to call out certain phrases or to stand up and help out with certain tasks such as pretending to pick apples from a tree or helping to dig a hole to plant a flower.

These shows are the perfect introduction to theatre for young children. Audiences are given a color sheet program page with the cast list, as well as activities for the children to work on at home. After the show, the audiences can get their program page signed by all of the characters in the show and get pictures. At only $8 per ticket, the show is affordable for the whole family, too. Our current family production is none other than Jack & the Beanstalk.

In this version the giants are ogres, and your children will laugh and have a great time watching these hilarious characters in this timeless tale come to life. Directed by Ameer Mobarak and featuring Jack Garrett, Sarah Rickert, Hannah Mobarak and Nate Nelson, this play is perfect for ages 2-102.

This production only has four live performances for the general public, as it also tours throughout Central Texas playing at schools.
