Holiday Movies return to the Wimberley Players

Back by popular demand, holiday movies return to the Wimberley Playhouse this year with screenings of “The Muppet Christmas Carol”, “White Christmas” (sing-a-long version), and “Mamma Mia!” Popcorn, hot chocolate, beer, wine and other concessions will be available.

“The Muppet Christmas Carol” screens Saturday, Dec. 21 at 2:30 pm. A fun, family twist on the classic Dicken’s tale, Scrooge (voiced by Michael Caine) joins Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo and Fozzie Bear, to tell this classic tale, Muppet style. Adult tickets are $10; kids 12 and under, $5.

“White Christmas,” the classic American romantic comedy set in a snowy Vermont Lodge, follows Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, and Rosemary Clooney as they sing and dance their way in and out of each other’s hearts. This sing-a-long version with lyrics on the big screen airs Sunday, Dec. 22 at 2:30 pm. Adult tickets are $10; kids 12 and under, $5.

“Mama Mia,” the energetic ABBA musical featuring celebrated performers Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Julie Walters, and Colin Firth, uncovers a bride’s paternity during wedding festivities on a sunny Greek isle. It screens Saturday Dec. 28 at 7:30 pm. Adult tickets are $10; kids 12 and under, $5.
