High Spirits mark Civic Club event at Longleaf Craft Kitchen+Bar
Amid the twinkling lights of the Longleaf Craft Kitchen + Bar courtyard, members of the Wimberley Community Civic Club bade adieu to the 2020 season in a warm display of camaraderie and optimism. The year’s theme, “Together,” was characterized by demonstrations of unity made deeper by the challenges of fundraising in 2020. Removed for photos, masks were another reminder of the year’s provocations but did not hamper the group’s high spirits as they sampled craft cocktails and a charcuterie plate designed for the festivities by Longleaf owners Steve and Randa Ryan who were on hand to oversee the proceedings. Initially organized by Susan Cooper, President Karen Thormalen and Nancy Robertson brought home the Dec. 10 event that featured door prizes from the Candy Cottage and Jeanne’s Fashions. During the evening, several 2021 Home Tour participants were revealed by organizer Melinda Miller. Eagerly anticipated throughout the region, the 2021 Home Tour is slated for April 16 and 17 and is an important fundraiser for the Civic Club charities and scholarships. Details can be found at wimberleyccc.org. The group will hold their next regular meeting January 8 at the Messina Inn at 1000 Cypress Creek Lane in Wimberley.
