Fundraiser for longtime local hair stylist in need

Clients and friends of Wimberley’s long time resident and hair stylist, Cher Kelly will be holding a fundraiser to help her fight a sudden brain cancer diagnosis. Owner of Salon 12 on RR12, Cher has given up her shop to start treatment. Assistance with her medical bills is urgently needed and Sunday, October 13th at Chapel of the Hills Church from 3-6pm, money will be raised from donations as well as a bake sale, half price sales of her wig inventory and entertainment from local artists.

Lee Colee’ will be providing several performers as well as The Wimberley Players who will present a variety of entertainment during the afternoon.

Cher Kelly is well known in the community not only for her successful salon, but for working behind the scenes with hair and makeup at The Wimberley Players. Many will remember her fantastic designs for the musical, “1776,” “Dracula,” “Steel Magnolias,” and many others. Not too many knew that she also loved fast cars and motorcycles.

Those interested in making a donation but can’t make it to the fundraiser can drop off a deposit into Cher’s account at Broadway Bank in Wimberley. For more info on the fundraiser contact Edie Samuels at 512-847-6032.
