Five outstanding homes on 34th Home Tour

Connect with Hill Country aesthetics at the 34th Annual Hill Country Home Tour. Hosted by the Wimberley Community Civic Club, this mainstay of regional culture showcases homes that express visionary, artful, innovative, and sustainable homes.

The tour, which runs Friday Oct. 29 and Saturday Oct. 30, from 10 am to 4 pm, showcases five outstanding homes christened the “Soaring Modern,” “a Collector’s Retreat,” “River Run,” “Dos Corazones,” and “the Art Haven.”

Called “Soaring Modern” for its striking roofline, this home validates the principle that great architecture enhances life. Its location above Winter’s Mill Parkway offers beautiful views of the valley below.

In the hills above the Blanco River is “a Collector’s Retreat.” High ceilings, an open feel catwalk, and a wall of windows showcase the owners’ collection of Outsider Art and Mission-style furniture.

In Wimberley’s center is “River Run.” Renovated and updated after the Memorial Day Flood of 2015, it pulls together family history, art, and new beginnings.

The highest point in Wimberley’s River Mountain Ranch is home to “Dos Corazones.” It boasts an expansive horse barn, and the ranch-style home is 100% solar and rainwater powered.

“The Art Haven” is home to a professional artist and incorporates an artist’s studio with a glass wall that offers views into a spacious yard.

“There’s everything to love about this tour,” says Civic Club tour organizer, Melinda Miller. “Our team selected homes that show how our neighbors approached style, renovation, and sustainability while incorporating their passions for art and the equestrian lifestyle.” A staple of Civic Club fundraising, the Home Tour event contributes one-third of the group’s donations to area non-profits and scholarships.

Tickets for the tour are $25 and can be purchased October 21st through the 30th by going to wimberleyccc.org. Tickets are picked up at the Wimberley Visitor’s Center, 14100 FM2325 in Wimberley. Shop the online auction in support of the Home Tour from Oct. 21st to Oct. 31st. Access it via the website wimberleyccc. org or instantaneously via the QR code. All monies raised from this and other Civic Club events go to sustain area non-profits and scholarships.
