Author, William Martin, Talks Billy Graham

William “Bill” Martin, author of the authorized biography, Prophet with Honor: the Billy Graham Story, will present a book talk at the First Baptist Church of Wimberley, on Sunday, October 7, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. He will talk about the writing of this definitive biography of the renowned “pastor’s pastor,” answer questions, and sign and sell copies of his book. Admission is Free and open to the community.

From the book jacket, “In Billy Graham, the world found a religious figure whose life bore out the message he preached. His words, actions, and personality endeared him to preachers and popes, kings and presidents, civil rights leaders and media figures, and hundreds of millions of Christians in virtually every nation and culture for more than half a century. As demonstrated consistently in published polls, Billy Graham became one of the most trusted and admired figures of our time. A Prophet with Honor is the biography Graham himself requested and appreciated for its sympathetic but frank approach. In this carefully documented, eminently fair, and gracefully written account, William Martin raises and answers key questions about Graham’s character, contributions, and influence on the world religious scene.”

Currently, Martin is a Harry and Hazel Chavanne Senior Fellow for Religion and Public Policy, Drug Policy at Rice University’s Baker Institute. His media appearances include such mainstream television and radio programs such as Frontline, 60 Minutes, 20/20, and All Things Considered. His articles have been published in Texas Monthly, The Atlantic, Harper’s, and many others.
