Allan Kimball’s new book a ‘mystery to be enjoyed by all’

Just when you thought it was safe to go outside again, it’s not. Pleasant Valley used to be such a small, quaint, and safe little village. We all woke to the same sounds every morning, had our coffee and rolls at the local diner, and visited with friends and family before enjoying retirement. Then the aliens came. Maybe. Well, at any rate, something was happening to the little village and people were beginning to wonder.

Flying saucers are sighted over the hills, Crop circles are cropping up. Pirates are lurking. Villagers and chickens are kidnapped. Prominent citizens are killed.

“The Pleasant Valley Flying Saucer Massacre” is a well-written, tongue-incheek mystery that takes Ray Strider, the local newspaper man, on a joy ride throughout the Hill Country we all know and love as he tries his best to figure out what’s going on. As the bodies stack up and the mystery deepens, you may begin to question whether aliens had indeed arrived.

Allan Kimball’s latest offering is a mystery to be enjoyed by all, well planned and well written. You will recognize the area and, perhaps, some of the people, but even if you don’t it’s a hell of a good read.

You may purchase copies of “The Pleasant Valley Flying Saucer Massacre” and all of his other books at Rancho Deluxe and at the Senior Citizen Craft Shop, both on the Wimberley Square.
