Advance tickets for the VFW rodeo go on sale Sunday

Advance tickets for the 75th Wimberley VFW Independence Day Rodeo go on sale this Sunday, June 27.

Advance tickets may be purchased at the VFW Hall, 401 Jacobs Well Road on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday from noon until 6 p.m. On those days, tickets also may be purchased by phone at 512-847-6441. Cash, check or major credit cards will be accepted.

Advance ticket prices are $12 for adults and $7 for children ages 3 to 12. Children under 3 are free. Prices at the gate on the nights of the rodeo are $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 3 to 12. Limited box seat tickets may be available for advance purchase at $30 each. General admission parking at the rodeo is $5 per vehicle.

The rodeo is Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening, July 2-4. Gates open at 5:30 each evening, the first mutton bustin’ event is at 7 and the rodeo begins at 8. Events include: bull riding, tie down calf roping, bareback and saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, team roping, women’s breakaway roping, and women’s barrel racing. A second mutton bustin’ event will be held midway in the Rodeo. There will be two calf scramble events nightly, one for ages 5-8 and another for ages 9-12. Free fireworks show nightly after the rodeo performance (weather permitting).
