City breaks ground on new hospitality center
Wimberley city leaders celebrated the groundbreaking of the community’s first hospitality center near the town square on Wednesday, Jan. 19. The center on Oak Drive will offer local residents and visitors an information kiosk, accessible public restrooms and ADA compliant parking spaces, a pocket park and sidewalks in this very popular part of town.

PEC now accepting nominations for 2022 Board of Directors
Nomination petitions are now open for PEC members seeking to serve their communities on the Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) Board of Directors in districts 4 and 5. Directors serve three-year terms. District 4 is currently held by Travis Cox, of Wimberley.

BSEACD hires new General Manager
The Barton Springs/Edwards Aquifer Conservation District (District) is pleased to announce Tim Loftus has been named General Manager. Dr. Loftus comes to the District with a wealth of experience in regional water supply planning, water-use conservation, and extensive knowledge in water resource management issues. He will also serve as the Chief Operating Officer of the District.

Registration form shortage as deadline beings to near
Less than a week remains before the Jan. 31 deadline to register to vote in the March 1 primary. While Secretary of State John Scott publicly assured Texas voters that “every single eligible Texas voter will be able to register to vote if they have not done so already,” the League of Women Voters on Friday threatened to sue his office if the nonpartisan group isn’t provided with additional voter registration forms.
