A wildfire broke out on the edge of the Wimberley Valley last week burning an estimated 44 acres over six days before essentially being contained early this week. Wimberley ISD is pleased to announce that Ryan Wilkes has been named the next principal of Wimberley High School. The WISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved Superintendent Greg Bonewald’s recommendation at its special-called meeting on August 3. He has been the publisher in Uvalde for decades. Recently facing the decision to retire, he was unable to do so, because of how much he cares about the community he covers.
