Local serviceman retires, ends decades-long military career
Congratulations to Colonel Andy “Doc” Davenport upon his retirement from the United States Air Force. Col Davenport led a distinguished 23-year Air Force career where he most recently served as the A3, Director of Operations, Headquarters, Texas Air National Guard, Camp Mabry, Texas. Col. Davenport was directly responsible for all matters pertaining to the direct operational planning, training, deployment and employment of more than 3,200 Airmen in three flying wings and six geographically separated units.

Wimberley Youth Soccer Club Texans win big at regionals
The Wimberley Youth Soccer Club had two teams representing WYSC: the Wimberley Youth Sports Association and the Capitol Area Youth Soccer Association in the 2022 South Texas Youth Soccer Association’s Fall Playoffs in Schertz. The U11 Texans placed first in the entire region, the highest honor achievable by a D3 team, and the U12 Texans lost a hard-fought championship game to finish second in the region.

Wimberley approves first transportation plan in a decade
After a series of meetings and sessions of public comment, the city of Wimberley has voted to officially approve its 2022 Transportation Master Plan, including 32 of the plan’s 35 project proposals. This is the first such plan to be passed since the prior transportation plan was established in 2010.

Lone Man Mountain Road’s Christmas
