WHS students recognized for musical talents
Wimberley High School seniors Simón Ramírez and Carson Weems were each selected to All-State bands following a lengthy audition process. Simón received first chair tenor trombone in the 4A All-State Band following his performance at the Area audition in Robinson and Carson was selected as the jazz guitarist in the Association of Texas Small School Bands (ATSSB) Jazz Ensemble earlier this school year. 01/20/2022 12:00 AM

The Wimberley Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously to recommend the city council deny a potential planned development district that would allow for a 31-site RV and tiny home park on Ranch Road 12 across the street from Plaza Del Sol. The plant we notice in January is Cedar, especially if you are allergic to Cedar pollen that is released into the air starting in December. The native Cedar of Central Texas is Juniperus ashei. There are many kinds of cedar found throughout the world and they are all in the Cypress family. The Cypress family includes Redwoods, Sequoias and the Cypress trees found along our local waterways. Feral Hog Management to include bounty program in Hays County
Hays County will be continuing countywide feral hog management efforts in 2022 after receiving a $7,500 grant from Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Wildlife Services. The Hays County program will include a five-dollar bounty on feral hogs, one workshop, one webinar, a countywide survey and damage assessment and the continuation of a volunteer-led trapping effort. 01/20/2022 12:00 AM
