The Cover of Life held over for another weekend
The Cover of Life held over for another weekend
The Cover of Life by R.T. Robinson has been extended over Memorial Day weekend with performances on May 27, 28, and 29. The story takes place in 1943 when Tood, Weetsie and Sybil, all married to a Cliffert brother, are living with their mother-in-law while their husbands are serving in WWII. A local reporter’s story about the wives keeping the home fires burning in rural Louisiana, catches the attention of Life Magazine. War correspondent and photographer Kate Miller, who is assigned to head south and get their story for the cover, gets more than she bargained for. Filled with laughs and charm, The Cover of Life is a deeply affecting story about the struggle for self-worth. 05/26/2022 12:00 AM

May Bloomers
I had a little trouble trying to come up with a topic for this week’s column so I walked out into the yard, sat down on a bench, and looked around. Voila! Four blooming plants caught my attention. 05/26/2022 12:00 AM
Pet of the Week
Pet of the Week
Jake was found as a stray and was heartworm positive. Even though he’d been through some rough times, Jake is a big love. WAG cared for him during his heartworm treatment and he loved all the attention he got. Jake gets along with almost all dogs, big or small, but he does best with dogs that will respect his space. Jake hasn’t had a lot to call his own in the past, so he can get a bit possessive about his toys, but that should diminish when Jake feels secure in a home of his own. Jake also likes car rides and is house-trained. Jake, a black-mouth cur mix, weighs 66 pounds and is three years old. If you are interested in Jake or any other dog, fill out a WAG adoption application at www.wimberleywagrescue.org or call 512-847-3200. 05/26/2022 12:00 AM
