Danforth cafeteria manager honored a ‘Hunger Hero’
Marc Steiner was recognized by the Wimberley Independent School District Board of Trustees last week for being named a No Kid Hungry Texas Hunger Hero Hall of Famer. No Kid Hungry Texas recognized five Hunger Heroes from across the state as individuals who have gone above and beyond to ensure kids have access to healthy meals. Marc, the cafeteria manager at Danforth Junior High, didn’t let a year rife with staffing shortage, supply chain disruptions and other challenges get in the way of performing his duties at DJH. Even with just one staff member on crew, he prepared and served meals to the high volume of students at the junior high school.

Pet of the Week
The folks at WAG don’t really know what breed Fozzie is, but he looks a lot like a Pyrenees/lab mix. He has that Pyrenees gentleness and patience. He is big player and loves his doggy pals at the refuge. Fozzie is sweet-natured, affectionate, and enthusiastic. He is quiet in his kennel. He would love some space to roam. If you’re looking for a great companion and all-round good family dog, we don’t think you can go wrong with this sweetie. Fozzie is two years old and weighs 66 pounds. If you are interested in Fozzie or any other dog, fill out a WAG adoption application at www.wimberleywagrescue. org or call 512-847-3200.
