Saunders win library’s “Storyteller’s Quilt” fundraiser
Mary Jo and John Saunders were the lucky winners of the “Storyteller’s Quilt” created by Cindy Stadler and donated to the Friends of the Wimberley Village Library. The quilt raffle was one of many efforts to raise money for the renovation of the library’s existing building. The Friends organization assists the library by raising funds and cultivating volunteers.

San Marcos wildfire brought under control
This past weekend in San Marcos, a wildfire off of Hilliard Road burned an area of approximately 50 acres. There were no structural losses or loss of life reported, but the wildfire is just one indication of an environment under stress by weeks of excessive heat.

“Every pool has a dynamic,” said Williams, who told me this was her second season as a guard for Austin City pools. “Deep Eddy’s dynamic is friendly and very welcoming. Even if people are swimming laps, they tend to be easygoing. No food or drinks, except water, are allowed in the pool area so the vibe is peaceful as people enjoy the water and stretch out on their towels between swims.”

Wimberley Village Library transforms for fundraising event
On Father’s Day, the Friends of the Wimberley Village Library hosted their first minigolf fundraising event. The inside of the library was transformed into 19 whimsical putting greens. Generous businesses and patrons sponsored holes which raised funds for the renovation of the existing library.
