WimDems reschedule candidate forum
The Wimberley Democrats event to meet Hays County Democrats running for office in the March 2024 Democratic primary elections has been rescheduled to Sunday, February 4, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Oldham- Cumming VFW Post #6441, 401 Jacobs Well Road. A candidate meet and greet will take place from 2:30 to 3 p.m. for uncontested candidates followed by a moderated program from 3 to 5:30 p.m. for races with multiple candidates. The meeting was unexpectedly shut down last Sunday after a problem surfaced at the VFW facility. Because the event is contingent upon repairs at the VFW, citizens are requested to check wimdems.org website for updates. For additional inquiries, email

A Year of Extremes
Last year was a rough one for the central Texas landscape. It was a year of extremes. Between the harsh ice storm in early February 2023 and the extreme drought over the summer, Wimberley residents have experienced some dramatic changes to the local landscape that remain challenging.
