Tony Robert Barrera III, 44, of Austin, was sentenced to 60 years in prison on January 18 for possession of fentanyl with the intent to deliver. He was also charged with a 50 year sentence for possession of a firearm. 01/31/2024 12:00 AM

Wimberley’s Tourism Department, headed up by Leeann Kirby, has been hard at work planning for the April 8 total eclipse that could bring as many as 50,000 visitors to the city. KAPS Chili Cook Off and Cupcake Wars
The Katherine Anne Porter charter school in Wimberley turned up the heat last week for their annual Chili Cook Off and Cupcake Wars school fundraiser. Students, staff, board members and Chef Ryan Castille from the Wimberley Inn joined in the competition. Judging was conducted by Jay Bachman, co-owner of the Wimberley Cafe and Marco’s Restaurant; Pam Tise, a Longleaf Craft Kitchen + Bar partner and KAPS Board Member; and Jordan Elliot, KAPS School Board President. 01/25/2024 12:00 AM
