St. Mary’s parish activity center lit up like triple 7s on Saturday as players engaged in the Knights of Columbus Mardi Gras Casino Night games. Roulette, slots, craps, poker and other games of chance and skill tested 220 guests who were eager to play and win. The fundraiser included Mardi Gras-themed food that included muffulettas and king cake. It is considered one of the most treacherous voyages for ships to make. Currents at its latitude meet no resistance from any landmass and waves top 40 feet, giving the passage a reputation for being the location of the most powerful convergence of seas.
