AARP offers free income tax return preparation
Free income tax return preparation begins February 2 at the Wimberley Community Center. Offered by the American Association of Retired Persons Foundation, the TaxAide program is available to anyone who wishes assistance. There are no income or age limitations and AARP membership is not required. Property tax statements now available online
The November Constitutional Amendment election led to changes in property taxes that have delayed tax statements for the year, according to the Hays County Tax Assessor-Collector Jenifer O’Kane. The property tax statements are now available to view online at tax.co.hays.tx.us and will become delinquent on Feb. 1.
