    TERRY ELDRIDGE

Woodcreek City Council Top 3 votes received win seat

Terry Eldridge

WV: What are your top priorities if elected?

Eldridge: My top 3 priorities are:

(1) To improve our communication & relationship between our residents and the city council.

(2) Make it a priority to direct our attention to road improvements and our green spaces.

(3) To explore ETJ issues to expand our city. This would also bring in added revenue for the city.

WV: After the construction of Brookhollow, what do you believe needs to be done to repair or replace the rest of the roads in Woodcreek and how would you pay for it?

Eldridge: I live on Brookhollow and know first hand how this impacted the residents. First of all, repairing another street with concrete does not seem to be the way to go; I would like to follow the 10-year plan in effect right now and repair one year & repave the next. I do not want our tax base raised again to pay for this. I would like to explore help from Hays County and then if we expand our ETJ, we have extra revenue.

WV: From water interruptions to the cost of services, Aqua Texas is always a hot topic in Woodcreek. How, and should, the city of Woodcreek play a role in improving service, cost and communication as it relates to Aqua Texas?

Eldridge: Yes the city of Woodcreek has to play a role for our residents. The contract with Aqua Texas comes up in 2 years, we need intense negotiations to get our pipes repaired/replaced properly. We also need to negotiate our rates to be lowered or at least stay the same. It would be nice to work with Wimberley to have “One Water” in the Wimberley Valley, but I don’t see that happening in two years.

WV: With the new WISD school planned to go in next to the Woodcreek entrance, there will likely be a dramatic increase in traffic through the city. Do you think the increased traffic will be an issue and what would you do to address it?

Eldridge: Yes the increase in traffic will be an issue. We will have to step up the constable roll in the morning & afternoon. I would also like to visit the issue of lowering the speed limit to 15 MPH to discourage through traffic.

WV: Previous city councils have discussed the merits and issues of annexation. What is your opinion on the city of Woodcreek expanding via annexation?

Eldridge: I believe it is essential to expand. Dripping Springs is right on our heels. The problem is, we can’t just annex due to Texas State Law. We need to make our city more attractive to want to be part of Woodcreek. We need to reach out more frequently now that Wimberley is having finance problems & water issues.
