WYSA sends three baseball teams to All-Stars

“Wimberley Strong” is a moniker that has become synonymous with our beautiful little town. The heart and determination of our citizens is something we should be proud of. Our little piece of Heaven’s sports programs are just an extension of those ideals. This past weekend our WYSA Baseball 12U, 10U, and 8U All Star teams competed in the CenTex All Star Tournament which is a culmination of a month’s worth of competition with the best All Star teams that Central Texas has to offer. For the first time in the program’s history, all three teams finished in the top three of their respective divisions. Not only did the boys play some excellent baseball, they did so while representing the Wimberley community with respect and class. Here’s to these boys, their coaches, and their families! Wimberley Strong!

The 8U Wimberley Texan All Star Team truly came together for the final week of the CenTex tournament. Without suffering a loss on the weekend and defeating All Star teams from Liberty Hill, Town and Country (North Austin) and Manchaca (South Austin), the Texans stormed to the finals and came out with a 16-10 victory to claim the title

“Baseball season for these kids started back in March,” WYSA Baseball Commissioner Terry Winston said. “To watch these kids progress over those couple of months is really special. Then to be able to send Three teams to All Stars is our greatest achievement yet. Without the dedication from our WYSA Board Volunteers, Coach’s, Umpires and especially our parents this would have never happened, so I Thank You!”

Editor’s Note: See next week’s paper for a recap of WYSA Softball All-Stars.
