Wimberley squares off with Boerne for the District Championship
After defeating Llano and Fredericksburg last week, the Wimberley Texans Volleyball Team needed two more victories in order to square off with Boerne for the District Championship.
Their first opponent of the week was rival Canyon Lake. After a thrilling battle in their last meeting, the Texans need to be on their A-game. Despite dropping the first set 25-21, Wimberley stormed back to win 25-20, 25-21, 25-20.
Leading the team in kills was Paige Crawford with 13 while Payton Knight led the team in blocks with 5.
After knocking off the rival Hawks, the Texans turned their attention to the Bandera Bulldogs. In quick and short fashion, the Texans swept the Bulldogs off the court winning 25-15, 25-18, 25-12.
Rayna Pack led the team in kills with 11 and Crawford lead the team in blocks with 3.
All eyes are now on Tuesday game against Boerne where the District Championship will be on the line. The game is at home, and occurred after the Wimberley View’s time of press this week.
