Volleyball splits week’s games

After an emotional win against Canyon Lake, the Wimberley Texans regrouped for their district slate this week with road trips to Bandera and Boerne.

The first game of the week was a road trip to Bandera to battle the Bulldogs. In short and quick fashion, the Texans swept Bandera 25-20, 25-22, 25-22.

To finish the week, Wimberley traveled to Boerne for an intense battle with the Greyhounds. With the district lead in the balance, emotions were running high.

After winning the first set at 25-22, Wimberley dropped the second set at 25-13. Both Boerne and Wimberley split the third and fourth sets again with the Texans winning the third in a thrilling 27-25 set and the Greyhounds taking the fourth set 25-15.

In an all encompassing fifth set, it was the Greyhounds edging the Texans in a tight battle winning the set 15-13.

With the loss, both Wimberley and Boerne are tied for the district lead with the Greyhounds holding the tiebreaker as of this moment.

The Texans hope to regroup this week as they travel to Llano on Tuesday before returning home to play Fredericksburg on Homecoming. After the Llano volleyball game, the remaining district games will all be at home.
