Texan volleyball win streak hits 10 games

The Wimberley Texan Volleyball team was back on the road again last week as the Texans looked to continue their eight game winning streak.

Traveling to Georgetown on Tuesday, the Texans were set to battle the Georgetown Gateway Gators in non-district action.

In dominating fashion, it was the Texans coming out with a 3-0 sweep over the Gators.

Leading the way for Wimberley was Holly Harwood who led the team with eight kills and seven aces. Briana Jones led the in blocks with four while Rhyan Masur led the team in digs with 11.

The Texans finished up the week on the road as the team traveled to Cuero to battle the Gobblers.

The Gobblers fought hard, but in the end, it was the Wimberley Texans taking home the win with another 3-0 sweep.

Paige Crawford led the team in kills with 12 while her and Briana Jones led the team in aces with two a piece. Jones also led the team with blocks along with Cameren Davis as the duo led the team with 2 blocks.

The win streak for the Texans officially hits 10 games since last losing to Bellville back in early August.

This week will be the final week before district play as Wimberley will play two more games. The Texans will return home Tuesday night as Wimberley will battle Navarro before going on the road Friday night to take on Ingram Moore.
