Tennis season comes to close
The season came to an end this week for the Texan tennis team in the UIL Area Playoffs. Wimberley lost to Boerne 10-3 in the team tennis match.
“Boerne came out clicking on all cylinders,” Tennis Head Coach Lauren Huse said. “We went down 1-6 after doubles, and we had a little talk in between and started figuring things out, but it was too little too late. We would have had to have won 10 of the 12 matches left to win at that point.”
Even as the season comes to a close, it felt like a successful year.
“I thought this season was going to be a rebuilding year after we lost some big seniors from last year,” Huse said. “But it went much better than expected and we ended up right back where we were last year, so I am looking forward to the spring.”
The individual tennis season will start this spring. Huse said that the team improved a lot over the 15 matches in the fall and it will help them get ready for the next season.
