Softball falls in playoffs

The Wimberley softball team saw their season come to a close in the Bi-District round of the playoffs as Navarro swept the Texans in a best two out of three series with the Panthers winning Game 1 at 8-6 and winning Game 2 10-0.

The Texans end the season with a 10-13 record.

Seniors for this year’s team include pitcher Ashlyn Castro, catcher Peyton Smith and Jordan Lynch who played in the outfiel. All contributed their best to the team’s success for the past four years.

The past two years, the seniors helped the Texans qualify for the playoffs despite losing in the first round.

The seniors have also participated in some of the most memorable games in Wimberley softball history from the epic monsoon game against La Vernia in the playoffs to the high scoring 36-25 loss to Marion.

All three will be missed by their fellow teammates and coaches.
