Local wins equestrian Junior Hunter National Championship

Brooke Brombach brings the 2019 U.S. Equestrian Federation (USEF) Junior Hunter National Championship to Texas. The USEF Junior Hunter National Championships were held in Brandywine, PA on July 8th and 9th at the historic Devon Horse Show grounds. Sixteen year old Brooke was the defending 2018 and 2017 Reserve Champion and had set her sights on improving her performance in 2019. “I have been focused on improving my timing and placement of the horse, and today it paid off.” “I had a wonderful partner in Classico, a 12 year old warmblood owned by Erica Moe of Austin.”

Brooke Brombach lives and trains in Wimberley at Silver Fox Farms under the teaching and encouragement of her trainer and mom, Colleen Brombach. “I was so proud of the ride Brooke put in today. She took some risks, and put it all out there for the win,” said trainer Colleen Brombach. Brooke was sitting in third place after day one of the two-day competition. After the flat phase of the competition on Tuesday morning, it all came down to the final ride. USEF commentator stated, ”I don’t think we’ve seen anyone else make the ride Brooke just did. She definitely did everything she could to win today.” When the final two riders failed to best Brooke’s second ride, it secured the national championship.

Brooke comes from a family of equestrians with a growing resume of national success. This year, thirteenyear-old sister, McKayla Brombach made her first entry in the USEF Junior National Hunter Finals. She finished the competition in eleventh place, bringing two 2019 national rankings to the town of Wimberley.

Silver Fox Farms was able to travel to Pennsylvania with 3 additional students that gained valuable experience and learning at this challenging show, and the entire team was part of the accomplishments this week.
