Why libraries are important to me

I am just going to be frank, libraries are GREAT! All you need is a library card and then you can read these great stories from all different authors. The first time I went to the library, I was blown away. I had never seen so many books before. What was super exciting was when I read my first book and it was 70 pages long. That was a lot for six year old me.

Libraries are also important to me because of all the cool programs and other things they have to offer. I had been to the library before, but I had only read books. My mom had signed me up for a STEM class for the day. I was a bit scared when I got there, but I saw one of my friends and relaxed. When the teacher started, I was really excited. She showed us a baking soda volcano. That made me really like science, and that year, I got a 99 in science on my report card.

Finally, libraries are important to me because it gives so many kids a chance to read for free, and we read every day! The Village Library has a whole room dedicated to kids books, I remember going there as a little kid and having the time of my life. To this day, I still go there a lot.

Reading doesn’t just make you smarter, it opens your imagination to a whole new place it has never gone before. Libraries can help the whole community get smarter and make better choices. Basically, I love libraries!
