A true Wimberley Christmas Story

Random acts of kindness in the spirit of the season.

Bella (my new puppy) and I went to the Wimberley Crisis Bread Basket today (any and every chance for Bella to meet, greet and explore.) She seems to be the Ambassador of Smiles.

On our way back to our truck a very handsome young man (maybe 14 – 15 years old) approached us and held out a white envelope and told Bella and I “Merry Christmas.” I replied Merry Christmas to him (Bella beaming and tail a wagging.) I graciously accepted the envelope. I turned to pick up Bella, opened the truck door and set Bella in her seat… envelope still in my hand. I turned to look for that young man to again thank him, however, the parking lot (filled with holiday shoppers) had hidden him from my view... (or had it!?!)

As Bella and I headed home, I explained to her how awesome it was to get out first Christmas card! Once we landed at home, and doing some chores and more, our day turned into night. We all enjoyed some supper and fast asleep into Bella dreamland she went, Captain on his cat throw and of course, feral boy Moe Kitten out to prowl.

I started to pop a movie in and remembered our Christmas card! So out to the truck I went. My bustling about stirred Bella so we opened it together. As you can see by the picture it was beautiful. I flipped it open (Bella watching nose first) and out floated this totally unexpected crisp new $100 bill! The signature by far… so heartfelt and profound! “It said “From an Old Soldier”

It is because of this hero and so many old and young soldiers who have served then and now, that I am blessed and proud to be an American.

I cannot express the gratitude that this much needed and appreciated gift means to us! Forever branded in my heart, how a moment of kindness least a lifetime.

Thank you so very much,

Bella & Robin
