Thanks to hard work of city staff

During the recent heavy rains and the resulting high-water on most of our waterways, Wimberley’s city staff put in many hours keeping us safe and cleaning up afterwards. Particularly impressive was the work of City Administrator Shawn Cox and Jon Provost of the Public Utilities Department.

Both were out during the downpours checking water levels and closing roads and bridges made impassable by the high water. On Thursday morning at 6:30, I found Jon Provost alone on River Road removing heavy debris by hand.

We should be proud that our community has such dedicated public servants, and that includes the entire city staff under Mr. Cox’s leadership. Their loyalty and sense of duty reflect great credit on themselves and on Cox’s effective management of our city government.
