Supporting Tim Dodson for Place 1

I encourage you to vote for Tim Dodson for Wimberley City Council, Place 1. Tim is a quality candidate who will work for the good of all. He understands the importance of gathering the facts and objectively identifying the most practical and economically feasible solution before deciding which path to follow. It is time to move away from those who seek office with predetermined agendas and preconceived ideas that stifle the use of objective and constructive thinking skills. Tim will encourage proper debate, the sharing of information and consideration of a variety of options. He will seek common ground and search for a course of action with the intended purpose of preserving the integrity of Wimberley.

Tim received his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1976 from Southwest Texas State University. He worked in Houston in management in the steel distribution industry until retirement. He has owned a home in Wimberley for 20 years and retired here several years ago. To more fully understand the workings of city government, he regularly attended council meetings for over a year. He has also served on the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Short Term Rental Committee.

There are times when we must lean in and support those who bring new direction and fresh ideas to the council. We need qualified council members who are hard workers, objective thinkers, and problem solvers. Tim is that type of person. He understands that with every council vote there are unintended consequences that may one day cause much harm to the beauty and charm that makes Wimberley one of the most unique towns in Texas. Tim is the one who we can trust to make the right decisions to protect the uniqueness of this place we call home.

Vote with us for Tim Dodson.

The Texas Water Development Board recently passed (unanimously) a long awaited change in scope for the City of Wimberley. In the Chairmans’ closing comments he challenged Wimberley residents to pull together and solve some of the issues we struggle with concerning the wastewater system. “This problem needs to be solved, but the patience of this board is not infinite. So, we encourage current leadership, past leadership and the entire community of Wimberley to make sure this problem gets solved.”

Our vote this coming election is going to those who are ready to embrace collaboration and a positive forward movement concerning the wastewater system. Tim Dodson is one of those individuals who has the skills, capability and most of all the desire to be a team member on city council in order to create an environment where progress can take place.

Tim demonstrated those skills during his 42 years of business experience. His excellent leadership record in business management and his personal reputation speak volumes about his problem solving and collaboration abilities.

Suzanne has been a team member with Tim serving, since July 2018, on the Short Term Rental Ad Hoc committee. Meeting weekly for several months has given her a first hand experience working with Tim on a difficult issue. She has experienced Tim to be a good listener, an independent thinker, fair-minded and willing to look at all sides of a situation.

Tim is passionate about Wimberley’s future success. For the past two years, he has been on the front row of most city council meetings.

These qualities alongside our shared values of no discharge into the Blanco River give us confidence to give our support and our vote to Tim. We believe Tim is the best choice for City Council Place 1.
