Supporting down ballot races

This year we have many exceptional candidates running to represent us here in Wimberley and Hays County. ERIN ZWIENER has proven during the 2019 session of the Texas Legislature that she has tremendous skills and knowledge and, above all, a commitment to serve all her constituents. Without a doubt, she is the best state representative HD 45 can have. JULIE OLIVER will bring the same to Washington as our representative in TX 25. I admire her tireless dedication to all the people in her district.

But voters also need to pay attention to the races further down the ballot. They will probably have the most immediate impact on our daily lives. ALEX VILLALOBOS will bring much needed change to the office of Hays County Sheriff. His credentials as a peace officer are impeccable and impressive. His plans to modernize the sheriff’s department will make the citizens of Hays County safer and provide officers with the means to do their job effectively and safely while also reducing the burdens on taxpayers.

Similarly, as Constable for PCT 3, CYNTHIA MILLONZI will restore trust in our local law enforcement agency and ensure transparency and accountability. She has exceptional organizational skills, vision and experience gained from her stellar military career where she had a leadership role during disaster relief efforts. This knowledge will be essential as a constable in a fast-growing area prone to natural disasters like floods.

Finally, with LISA PREWITT we will have an experienced leader as county commissioner. She will bring fiscal responsibility and much needed transparency to the Commissioners Court. But most of all, she is a true and committed environmentalist and will make Hays County a leader in the fight against climate change thereby also securing our economic well-being in the long term.
