In support of Scott Way and Brandon Metcalf for WWSC Board of Directors

Water has no color, red or blue. For the sake of our water, please join me in voting for important change in the leadership of Wimberley Water Supply Corporation. We are blessed to have WWSC as a member-owned, member-controlled supplier in the Wimberley Valley. WWSC, Aqua Texas, Wimberley Springs, and private wells all draw water from the Trinity Aquifer, the lifeblood of our community. The aquifer provides water not only to our faucets, but also to our springs: Jacob’s Well, which is the main source for Cypress Creek, and Pleasant Valley Springs, which is a main source of water for the Blanco River as it runs through Wimberley.

WWSC has a volunteer Board of Directors elected by its members, and, for the first time in many years, we will hold an election this month for members to cast ballots for two of the Board seats. WWSC has been one of the best run water supply corporations in Texas, and I applaud our Board for their service. But, I believe now is the time for new Board leadership. I endorse Scott Way and Brandon Metcalf for Place 3 and Place 1, respectively, for our Board. These men understand the long-term needs of our community and the unprecedented demand that requires we address the limits of our water resources.

Jacob’s Well recently stopped flowing. WWSC and other suppliers have a direct impact on Cypress Creek streamflow. The current Board voted against implementing the Jacob’s Well Groundwater Management Zone, which is widely supported by our elected officials across the political spectrum. We need leaders who will preserve our greatest assets, especially our groundwater. I believe Scott Way and Brandon Metcalf are those leaders. Please join me in electing them to our Board.

Sincerely yours, Malcolm Harris
