In support of justice

The protestors of the public killing of George Floyd remind us again: Silent support for justice is not support. Even here in Wimberley Valley.

Those protesting injustice and inequality are saying “Silence is not enough”. If the Founders of our Nation had written the Declaration of Independence only to have their fellow colonists say, “I agree, but don’t ask me to stand with you” we would have no United States of America.

Black Lives Matter means All Lives Matter: mine, yours and everyone’s. It means every life deserves justice. To pretend to think otherwise is an excuse to justify injustice. United States is an empty name if we are not also a United People of America, all colors, all jobs, all religions, all genders. We must say so, or it won’t be so.
