She has worked to solve some really thorny problems in our city’s past. She brings knowledge, experience, perspective, energy, leadership and a sense of humor to the job. She understands the process of government in a representative democracy. She knows and understands how to work with people. Gloria will devote her efforts to building consensus among divergent points of view, and will always seek to accomplish what is best for Woodcreek – not as a mini Austin or a Wimberley clone, but the best Woodcreek possible.

Longtime resident Gloria Whitehead has generously stepped up to follow Mayor Sheel’s tenure. In addition to her legal and government service careers, Ms. Whitehead has previously served Woodcreek as Grants Administrator, Planning & Zoning Commissioner, City Council Member, Mayor Pro Tem and Mayor. Her extensive professional experience and impressive service record make Ms. Whitehead eminently qualified to take on this position of leadership in our town. I am confident that Ms. Whitehead will be a strong and capable leader who is dedicated to consensus building. With active support from residents and working with our excellent City Council and City staff, the residents of Woodcreek have every reason to expect great good to come to our community from the tenure of incoming Mayor Gloria Whitehead!
