LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

Thank you to Wimberley EMS

The Wimberley EMS really cares about this community, and they deserve a thank you.

I am 78 and I was here at home and my daughter called me. I thought it was time to get up in the morning, and she said that it was 7 o’clock at night. She said I needed to call 9-1-1.

I asked them not the use the siren. I was still in bed and the door was locked and everything. When they got there, I was worried about my dog. I told them I didn’t want to go to the hospital, because I needed somebody to take care of my dog. They said I couldn’t refuse to go because my leg was scarlet red and was badly infected.

They loaded me up in the ambulance and told me “Don’t worry. The EMS crew will take turns coming to let your dog out.” My brother said “Gayle, they will never go back to your house to let your dog out.”

My dog is not a little dog. She looks just like a pit bull. They never backed down. By the time my friends got to my house to take care of my dog, they had already been back, fed the dog and let it out. There are not many ambulance services that would do that, but Wimberley is an exception.

I just want to thank them for being interested in the neighborhood and doing such a great job taking care of the people here.
