Carl J. Lamb

Carl John Lamb, 63, of Wimberley, Texas, died on Wednesday, September 1, 2021. A celebration of life will take place on Tuesday, September 7 at 2 p.m. at Cypress Creek Church in Wimberley. Palmer Day “Sonny” McCuistion

Palmer Day “Sonny” McCuistion passed away peacefully in his sleep in hospice care in Patagonia, Az. He was born in Wimberley to Beatrice George McCuistion and Nealon Day McCuistion. His great grandfather, Elisha McCuistion, was one of the earliest settlers in Wimberley. Sonny grew up with best friends Jack Oldham, Karl D. Dobie and, although older, he knew Carl Scudder very well. After high school, he left for the Navy and served during WWII. He returned and married Peg Orem McCuistion in a double ceremony with her twin sister Anne to Gerald “Jack” Mayes on the Carney Ranch 9/4/1949. He worked as a brand inspector for Southwest Cattle Raiser’s Association in Paris, Texas before moving to Pasadena to work for Harris County Sheriff’s Department. After a divorce, He moved to Arizona where he remained for the rest of his life doing what he loved, cattle ranching. He loved his cattle, his horses and his dogs and took good care of his land. He is predeceased by his parents, Bea and Day, his aunt and uncle Lizzie and Luis McCuistion, his aunt Maude McCuistion Hunt, his cousin Pam Harris (Tim) all of Wimberley and his late wife Nancy Hunt McCuistion of Arizona. He is survived by his only child, Lee McCuistion of Wimberley. His ashes will be interred next to his mother in the Wimberley Cemetery. Vincent J. LaRocca

Vincent Jordan LaRocca, beloved husband, father, and PawPaw, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at the age of 84. After several years of declining health, he passed peacefully at home from this world and into eternal life in heaven.

Brendy Alexander Browne Barnette Kilber

Just before sunset on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, Brendy Alexander Browne Barnette Kilber released her earthly body and joined the stars in heaven. She was at home surrounded by the beautiful treasures and tapestries she’d collected over years of travel, and holding the hands of her beloved children. Brendy was born August 21, 1949, to Lois and William Browne in Dallas, Texas. She was voted “Friendliest” at Hillcrest High School and graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in home economics around 1970. In 1977, she moved to Wimberley and became an icon of “friendly Wimberley” through her work at the Chamber of Commerce and Wimberley Land Co. Later, she moved to Austin and worked for Whole Foods Market. In the first year of the Covid-19 pandemic, she continued to work full time on the front line, checking people out, brightening their days, and uplifting spirits during a very strange time in history.

Donald Gene Bomer

Donald Gene Bomer, 78, of Wimberley TX, was called to his heavenly home on August 2, 2021. Don was preceded in death by: Parents, Bill & Silvalee Bomer; Sisters, Janice Bomer & Patricia (Bomer) Jenkins; Stepson, John Cormier; and Grandson, Andrew Cormier. He is survived by Daughter, Pam McNett (Dan); Sons, Jon Savage & Ron Gowans-Savage (Seth); Stepson, Michael Cormier; and Granddaughter Alexandra Cormier plus many others discovered by Don through several decades of Genealogy research.
