Judith Demecs Navarro

Judith Demecs Navarro, age 82, born in Houston on September 15, 1937, passed away on April 21, 2020 in Pearland, Texas. Judith resided in Wimberley from 2006 until 2012. She attended Wimberley United Methodist Church and volunteered at the Crisis Bread Basket and Barnabas Connection. Chaplain (COL) Robert Lee Campbell

Chaplain (COL) Robert Lee Campbell of Austin passed away on Friday, May 1, following a long illness. He was surrounded by family members in the home of his son and daughter-inlaw (Rob and Susan Campbell) in Wimberley. Born in Cincinnati, OH, on November 24, 1934, to Lloyd and Bessie Campbell, he was raised by The Greatest Generation to value faith, honor, and service to one’s country. He served his nation with pride and distinction for 27 years, beginning with a tour of duty in Vietnam and concluding as the head chaplain of the United States Army Europe. His military commendations include the Purple Heart, Bronze Star “V-device,” and Meritorious Service Medal. Throughout his career and ensuing ministry endeavors, he was known for mentoring and encouraging young leaders and caring for people in his every sphere of influence. He was a marathon runner, an avid hiker, a voracious reader and an accomplished church pastor, preacher & teacher. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Austin, where he served in numerous leadership roles.

Diane Haschke Townsend

Diane Townsend, age 88, went to join her husband, and the love of her life, Robert Townsend, in heaven on Saturday, April 18, 2020. Diane lived the last 8 months in Georgetown, near her daughter, Mary Townsend and husband, Wes Moncus, and her granddaughter, Carrie Faulkner and husband, Harrison, grandson, Craig Moncus, and great-grandson, Stetson. Diane and Robert previously resided in assisted living in The Woodlands, Texas, until his passing in March 2019, near great-grandson, Marcus Norvell, his wife, Miranda, and great-grandsons, Leland and Westen and granddaughter, Krystal McCormick and great-granddaughter Mallory of Tomball, Texas. Previously, Diane and Robert lived for 20 years on the family ranch, located on the Blanco River, in Fischer, Texas, next door to son, Steven Townsend and his wife, Nanette. She and Robert raised goats, chickens, cats, dogs, a garden and fruit trees. Diane enjoyed cooking and baking cakes and was a member of the Fischer Store Homemakers group. Diane loved the Texas Hill Country and spent many of her summers and holidays, as a child, along with her sister, Imogene Haschke Koch, riding horses, fishing and swimming on this ranch, originally purchased by their parents, Gus Walter and Catharine Haschke, of San Antonio, Texas in 1941. Diane was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She attended and was a proud graduate of Alamo Heights. She and Robert married young and shared 69 years of marriage together making memories on Sunday family outings, picnics at the beach, enjoying travel with family and friends, and attending their church, Cowboys for Jesus Fellowship in Fischer, Texas. Diane, who was always good with numbers, also worked as an accountant/bookkeeper, both in Corpus Christi and Austin, Texas, where they raised their three children, Steven, Mary, and Kathleen (husband, Mark Norvell of Barksdale, Texas). Diane is also survived by grandson, Matthew Norvell and great-granddaughter Madelyn of Phoenix, Arizona. A private family service will be on Friday, April 24th, at Fischer Community Cemetery. Donald Joseph Bisett

On Friday, April 10, 2020, Donald Joseph Bisett passed away at age 90 in San Antonio, Texas. Don was born May 21, 1929 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and cherished his childhood with family in Rolla, Missouri. Don applied his many talents across a life that proudly included cowboy, rodeo announcer, photographer, hunting guide, auctioneer, and third generation professional in the oil business. On retirement, Don and his life’s love, Billie Marie Riquelmy Bisett, moved from their farm in Ledbetter, Texas to Wimberley, Texas. Don was proudly recognized as 2018 Volunteer of the Year for Shared Beat, Inc., a non-profit group of doctors, nurses, and volunteers providing medical services to children and families in Guatemala. Larry Musselwhite

Larry Musselwhite of Wimberley, Texas went to his final resting place on March 27, 2020. He was born in Cleveland, Mississippi to Vergia Mae and John Musselwhite who preceded him in death along with our youngest daughter, Lori Gosnell. Larry was proud to have played football for the Nederland Bulldog State Championship team coached by “Bum” Phillips. He retired from the Sherwin Williams Company with 37 years of service and was a member of the Wimberley Church of Christ. He enjoyed his grandson, hunting, fishing, camping and woodworking. Larry is survived by his wife of 56 years, Brenda; daughter, Lisa Musselwhite, of Tucson; grandson, Strummer, and son-in-law, Darin Gosnell, of Wimberley. Entombment was Monday, March 30, 2020 at the Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, TX. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
