Stephen Birgel

Stephen Birgel, 94, died on March 5, 2019. A 21 year resident of Wimberley, Steve was a member of Wimberley United Methodist Church, where he cooked breakfast every month for the Methodist Men. A veteran of WWII, Steve served in the Air Force. After relocating to California in 2017, Steve became active in “Wings over Wendy’s”, an Air Force veterans’ organization.

Steve is survived by his wife, Darlene, many children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Friends and family miss his big heart, sharp mind, and quick wit.
