Sam Davis

A memorial service will be held for Sam on March 20, 2020 at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church in Wimberley. He fought so hard to overcome the cancer that invaded his body and passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his friends and family on March 8, 2020.

Sammy Durant Davis was born on January 10, 1936 in Mt. Vernon, TX to J.C. Davis and Rosalie Cawthon Davis. He lived most of his life in Dallas as a service station owner, auto repair/muffler shop owner and real estate broker. Sam and his first wife Junella, moved to Wimberley in the late 1990’s. She passed away in 2009. They had one daughter Jeri, who passed away in 2014.

Sam had three siblings, Wayne (deceased), Venita (deceased) and Yvonne.

He was a member of the Lions Club and a real estate broker with Century 21 in Wimberley for a number of years before retiring. Sam and Janice met in 2013 and were married in August of 2014.

Sam is survived by his wife Janice, and his sister Yvonne. He also had a special relationship with his former son-in-law Brad Badgett. Sam was so loved and respected and had many friends in and around Wimberley, San Antonio and Poteet.
