Robert B. Mobley

Robert B. (Bob) Mobley of Woodcreek, Wimberley and Austin passed away October 18, 2019 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease and dementia. He was born in Freer, TX in May, 1948 the only child of Doris A. Grissett and Brooks T. Mobley.

Bob lived in the Wimberley community for 20 years volunteering at the Village Store. He became a certified Master Gardner and enjoyed releasing butterflies at the annual Butterfly Festival at the Emily Anne Gardens. He was also a long time member of the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.

He is survived by his children Edwin Brooks Mobley and granddaughter Riley, his daughter Anna Rubio and husband Patrick along with grandchildren Liam, Olivia and Kara, former wife Sarah Schattman and numerous cousins from the Grissett family.

The family would like to thank the staff of Serendipity Care Home in Austin, TX for the excellent care they gave Bob in his final illness. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.

Services for Bob will be held Sunday October 27, 2019, 10:00 AM at Harrell Funeral Home 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin, TX.
